Sorry for the long winded reply but I hope this helps you. The one you have pictured looks to be in pretty good shape. Some of the slides have crest of Gendarmerie Vaud canton some have different markings. These have the matching serialised slide, frame and barrel as well as German proof marks. Ive compiled a fairly decent list of serial numbers and their related dates of import and/or manufacture, and hope this helps those who may be looking for such answers/information. Ex Swiss Police issued and made in Germany. Serial number, date code, year, if each is present, then any pertinent information like import markings or a description of the pistol. I have seen these police trades on gunsamerica going anywhere from 400 to 650 depending on condition. SIG P226s in decent condition (listed as very good with only minor wear). The barrels show "sig smileys" almost immediately but it takes 10000 rounds or more to wear the barrel till it looks almost chrome. It is normal to see some wear in the rails at the rear of the frame if it is showing a gold color back there there is still some life left. Also you want to look inside the rails on the slide for wear the frames on the older guns are aluminum alloy so if the finish is worn off the full length of the rails it has seen heavy use. For example if you find a ka stamp that means the gun was assembled in 1990.
The German made sigs usually have proof marks and a date code stamped on the bottom of the slide where it sticks out of the frame a being 0 and k is 9 they don't use I because it looks like a 1.
